I find it hard to believe that anybody is still supporting Bill Cosby at this point but as recently as February of this year he was performing and people were paying money to see him. Sure, there were protesters and placard-carriers (outside the venue, of course) but I guess that there are still some people who believe over 60 women are lying. Holy crap, you guys, it's over 60 accusers now.

Well, whatever would cause some people to still believe Cosby is a good guy, it all ends today. Associated Press released some excerpts from Cosby deposition from the 2005 civil case against him. It's doesn't make him look good.

Let's assume for a second Cosby only did the things he, himself, has admitted to. If he only was guilty to the things he's already admitted, Cosby is, by all reasonable standards of morality, a terrible terrible person. Maybe he should already be in prison. Just from the things he's admitted he did.

Let's look at some.

This exchange comes after admitting that he gave Andrea Constand "3 Pills". He claims they were over-the-counter Benadryl.

Cosby describes a several-minute sexual encounter that followed.

Q: So, you're not telling us that you verbally asked her for permission?

A: I didn't say it verbally, I said. The action is my hand on her midriff, which is skin. I'm not lifting any clothing up. This is, I don't remember fully what it is, but it's there and I can feel. I got her skin and it's just above the hand and it's just above where you can go under the pants.

So, Cosby took Constand's silence to be assent. After he gave her some pills. Cosby says they were only Benadryl, though. Maybe he's telling the truth. It's not like Bill Cosby has a history of using Quaaludes or anything, right?

Cosby testified that he had gotten quaaludes from his doctor in Los Angeles in the 1970s. He said he was given seven prescriptions for the now-banned sedative, ostensibly for a sore back.

Q: Why didn't you ever take the quaaludes?

A: Because I used them.

Q: For what?

A: The same as a person would say, "Have a drink."

Q: You gave them to other people?

A: Yes.

Q: Did you believe at that time that it was illegal for you to dispense those drugs?

A: Yes.

Q: How did (the doctor) know that you didn't plan to use (them)?

A: What was happening at that time was that, that was, quaaludes happen to be the drug that kids, young people were using to party with and there were times when I wanted to have them just in case.

Q: When you got the quaaludes, was it in your mind that you were going to use these quaaludes for young women that you wanted to have sex with?

A. Yes.

Oh. So he admitted he used a powerful sedative in the past to get women to have sex with him. Strike that last statement. "To Get Women to Have Sex" isn't really accurate. "So I could knock them out and rape them" is much more on the nose.

Cosby describes giving Quaaludes to a women back in the 1970s.

I meet Ms. Picking in Las Vegas. She meets me backstage. I give her quaaludes. We then have sex.

In case you weren't clear on how it works.

Cosby explains why he himself didn't take the Quaaludes.

Q: Why didn't you ever take them yourself?

A: I get sleepy.

Q: How would you know that if you never took them?

A: Quaaludes happen to be a depressant. I have had surgery and while being given pills that block the nervous system, in particular the areas of muscle, the back, I found that I get sleepy and I want to stay awake.

In other words, it takes all the fun out of raping if you're asleep yourself. I guess, Bill Cosby might say that everyone he gave 'Ludes to was aware of what they were taking. He'd have us believe he wasn't a rapist. Just a dope-pusher.

Cosby says that while he was filming one of his sitcoms, an agency would send "five or six" models to his studio each week. He says he would give the struggling, young actresses "a very, very good meal."

He goes on to describe having (he says) consensual sex with one of the models who was 17 when he met her. Let's take inventory. So far, Bill Cosby admitted to fraudulently obtaining prescription, giving prescription medication to people without a prescription, adultery, lechery, and what may or may not have been statutory rape.

That seems like enough to establish that Bill Cosby is not a good person.

Cosby is asked about educational trusts he offered Constand and others, through his foundation or otherwise.

Q: How would (the money to Constand) come?

A: It would come through our writing a check.

Q: And our being who?

A: The family.

Q: Would your wife know about that?

A: My wife would not know it was because Andrea and I had had sex and that Andrea was now very, very upset and that she decided that she would like to go to school or whatever.

That sounds like Cosby is describing using money from his charitable foundation to pay an accuser for her silence. Now, having a charitable foundation usually involves getting donations from supporters and also receiving special tax breaks. How would people who donated to Cosby's charity and, for that matter, taxpayers feel if they knew the charity they supported was Bill Cosby's own private hush-slush fund? So add malfeasance to the list of Cosby's sins.

At this point, I only hope he never used any of the funds from the Hello Friends/Ennis William Cosby Foundation. There would have to be a special place in hell for someone who would use money from their dead son's foundation to enable their sexually predatory behavior. Shudder.
