Corey Taylor Hopes for White Zombie Reunion at Future Knotfest + Talks Next Slipknot Album

Liz Ramanand, Loudwire

This summer fans got the opportunity to witness Slipknot’s headlining performance on this year’s Mayhem Festival trek and also their Knotfest shows. In an interview with The Beat, frontman Corey Taylor talks all about both Slipknot and Knotfest’s future.

When the The Beat reporter asks Taylor what kind of bands he would like on the future editions of Knotfest, he responds “For me I would like to keep it – bands from our generation or maybe Slayer would be wonderful to have on the Knotfest shows.”

He goes on to say, “Stuff like Korn would be great, Rob Zombie – maybe even encourage a White Zombie reunion?” as he gives pleading look to the camera.

“I’m not sure, there’s a lot of great metal bands out there right now and this might be a great platform for them to have their own moment in the sun. I think as long as we put together a package people really want to see, I think it will sell itself,” adds Taylor.

When asked what he sees in the future for Slipknot, he replies, “We’re gonna take a break and slowly but surely start putting some music together.”

“Obviously I have Stone Sour that’ll probably be going out for about a year, two years with two albums. Joey’s got something, Clown’s got something, everybody’s got something that they’re doing right now but we’ll start putting music together and just kind of seeing what happens.”

Taylor continues, “The more we feel together as a band and as a family the easier it will be to start working on new music. Obviously without Paul, it’s a little bittersweet but I think the closer we become as a band, the closer we’ll be to making a new album – so maybe in a couple years, we’ll see. It’s going to take a little time.”
