They get the crowd pumped up for their team with their energy filled cheers. They stand behind their team, win or lose. They are a constant beacon of happiness that will put a smile on a face at any given time. Behind the thumping of drums, the roar of the crowd, and the adrenaline and fight on the gridiron, you have cheerleaders. In Texas, everything is bigger and better and cheerleaders are no exception giving the Lone Star State some of the most beautiful and talented cheerleaders on the planet. So, here is a closer look at college football cheerleaders - Texas edition. Hey, somebody has to do this job, right?

    Texas Longhorns

The Texas Longhorns are my favorite college team, so naturally the Texas Longhorn cheerleaders are my favorite college cheerleaders. They love to break out the chaps and there is just something about beautiful woman in burnt orange wearing chaps that just brings a tear to your eye. I like how these two seem to be there to pick each other up from time to time. Shows an incredible friendship.

    Texas Tech Red Raiders

It would be hard to get anything done in the gym with these three hanging around. Even though I'm not a huge Texas Tech fan, I still respect the school and everything that comes with that - especially the cheerleaders. Black and red happen to be my favorite colors, so that's another plus for me.

    Texas A&M Aggies

Texas A&M do not have cheerleaders. No, seriously, they don't. Why, you ask? I have no idea. Something to do with the "12th man" and the fact that they have "yell leaders". Find out more on that with the link below. Anyway, I did find this picture of some cheering Aggie ladies. The Aggie colors remind me of red velvet cake. I love red velvet cake.

    TCU Horned Frogs

I once had a pet horned frog, but it never looked like these horned frogs. The TCU cheerleaders like to keep up with their fans on Facebook, so if you're a fan, you might want to check that out if you haven't already.

    Baylor Bears

Well, what can you say about Baylor. At least they have cheerleaders unlike some other school, which reminds me, I'm hungry for red velvet cake.

    Houston Cougars

The Houston Cougars cheerleaders are very limber. Just looking at that picture makes my legs hurt. There it goes again. Tom Landry went to school at UH as well as Heisman Trophy winner, Andre Ware. However, the Houston Cougar cheerleaders are one of the the best things to come out of the school.

    Rice Owls

The Rice Owls. Not exactly on the top of anybody's mind, but maybe they should be in the name of cheer leading? Rice has a fourteen member coed cheerleading squad and an all-female dance team, both of which perform at football and basketball games throughout the year. It least somebody from Rice is performing.

    SMU Mustangs

I hate to say it, but I forget about SMU. In fact, I don't think I even have thought about them since the Erik Dickerson days. That dude could run, just like these ladies can pose! Smile for the camera ladies! Thank you.
