Two prison guards in Texas made a shocking find when processing a shipment of bananas donated to the Texas Department of Criminal Justice. Two sergeants from a prison facility in Texas found more than just bananas when unloading two pallets donated to a Texas prison. Ports of America in Freeport donated two pallets of what seemed to be organic Dole brand bananas that weren't claimed and were already ripe. The bananas were sent to the Wayne Scott Unit, a prison facility south of Houston according to the Daily Mail. The guards were unloading the pallets when they noticed some of the boxes felt heavier than the others and decided to open them up. Hidden amongst the bananas inside the boxes were bundles of white powders. In all 45 boxes, they found 540 packages of cocaine with a street value of $17,820,000. Investigators are now trying to figure out who sent the shipment of bananas and where the boxes were supposed to go. Read more about this story at the Daily Mail website.
