If you have some very high grass or weeds around your home, you might want to get that taken care soon or it could cost you some money. The City of Abilene will be holding a zero-tolerance week from July 21-25.

From the City of Abilene's Website:

The City of Abilene’s Code Compliance Division is asking property owners to keep their lawns and vegetation under 12 inches as required by city code. To encourage this, Code Enforcement Officers will adopt a zero-tolerance approach during the week of July 22-26. Property owners could receive a citation and a contractor could be called to mow the yard at the property owner’s expense.

City regulations define grass and weeds over 12 inches as a public nuisance and are a Class C misdemeanor subject to a fine of up to $500.
