January 23, 2013 When I first heard of the "Burns Supper and Scottish Night" event, I began to wonder if people were speaking in code. Little did I know, one person was rehearsing the welcoming of the guests and the infamous 'Haggis'. The later seemed to garner a lot of attention. Haggis, had we met before? Was this Haggis new to the sales department? Oh, I remember Haggis well, yes, yes Haggis and the Burns Supper an event celebrated worldwide. This years event will be January 26th in downtown Abilene.

The 11th Annual Wild Bunch Bonanza Cook Off and Auction is scheduled for this Saturday, January 26th starting at 10:00 AM when the gates open. Attendees will get to sample everything from quail, to deer, elk to brisket and smoked wild hog to tasty jalapeno poppers. The Wild Bunch Bonanza is an annual fundraiser for the ECCA Volunteer Fire Department. Last years proceeds got ECCA's fire department a new brush firefighting truck.

The West Texas Rehab Center's telethon and auction raised, $1,202,646. This is not the all-time high for the Rehab center, in fact last year's telethon was, when the Rehab center raised just over 1.33 million dollars. This year's total is the fourth highest in the history of the Rehab center's telethon and auction.
