Morgan Frazier will Headline the 2014 West Texas REHAB Telethon January 18th

This years headlining entertainer for the 44th Annual West Texas Rehabilitation Center’s telethon will be Breckenridge native Morgan Frazier. Frazier's better known for her song "Yellow Brick Road" that made the Top 20 on Billboard's 'Hot 100' music chart. Her biggest success to date was winning the coveted 'John Lennon Song Writers Award' earlier this year. Morgan is currently out promoting "Hey Bully" her latest song and video.

The Abilene Chapter of Credit Unions proudly present 'Movies For Miracles' to benefit Hendrick Hospital Children's Miracle Network (CMN), Monday, December 23rd. at the Town and Country Drive In theater. 100 percent of all monies raised during 'Movies For Miracles' will be matched and go directly to CMN. The Lighted Christmas Parade Returns to Cross Plains December 12th

The Cross Plains Chamber of Commerce (COC) recently decided to reinstate the lighted Christmas parade. Myleah McNutt, the Chambers administrative assistant said "Cross Plains has not had a lighted Christmas parade for as far back as I can remember. We thought it was a good time to bring it back." The Kiwanis will also be hosting their annual stew supper to coincide with the Christmas parade.

The Annual Feast of Sharing Christmas Dinner in Abilene is December 10 at the Abilene Civic Center

The Feast of Sharing holiday dinner that is put on by H-E-B and several the city of Abilene officials is scheduled for Tuesday, December the 10th from 4 pm till 8 pm at the Abilene Civic Center. This years H-E-B Feast of Sharing is in it's 9th year. For 2013 H-E-B's general manager says they anticipate feeding over 10,000 guests in only 4 hours. This years holiday meal will include; glazed ham, mashed potatoes, mixed vegetables, dinner roll and pie for desert. Organizers have also arranged for live  entertainment.

The Center for Contemporary Arts is getting a jump start on the holiday spirit by hosting “Mingle and Jingle.” The benefit celebrates the arts, sights, sounds and flavors of the Christmas season. "Mingle and Jingle" starts you off with cocktails, hors d’oeuveres, fine chocolates, and other delicacies. You'll also take in the arts and sounds of the holiday season. The event takes place at the Center in downtown Abilene on Saturday, November 16th, and is a ticketed event.

Angelina Ballerina is a children's book about a lively little mouse that dreams of one day becoming a world famous ballerina. The Abilene Cultural Affairs Council presents “Angelina Ballerina" as part of the Children’s Performing Arts Series (CPAS). Stars From American Idol and Dancing With the Stars Featured in Ballroom With a Twist on November 12th in Abilene

The Abilene Cultural Affairs Council (CAC) presents the musical "Ballroom With a Twist", Tuesday November 12th at the Abilene Civic Center. The CAC is partnering with Celebrity Attractions to bring nationally touring Broadway shows to Abilene. This musical will feature stars from “Dancing with the Stars,” “American Idol” and “So You Think You Can Dance.”

ACU Presents ‘Les Miserables’ the Musical October 18th-20th

The Abilene Christian University 2013 homecoming musical is 'Les Miserables', it's based on the classic novel by Victor Hugo. Adam Hester, the chair of the Theatre Department at ACU said "the deep, spiritual messages in Les Miserables make this the musical I’ve been waiting to do for almost 30 years". Dawne Meeks, ACU Theater professor says "while most of the classics may be a bit heavy for kids, I recommend  'Les Miserables' for most children ages 10 and over". Tickets are on sale now.
