Cannibal Corpse guitarist Pat O'Brien, who has been with the band since 1997, is being charged with burglary of an occupied dwelling and assault and aggravated assault on a police officer as firefighters worked toward extinguishing the inferno that had engulfed his home.

The Northdale, Florida house fire began on Monday night (Dec. 10) on Norwood Drive, WFLA reported, and firefighters battled the blaze for an hour as they struggled to contain the fire as ammunition stored inside the home kept exploding.

During this time, police received a report of a burglary on nearby Windflower Circle, where O'Brien entered a home without invite. Refusing to leave, the guitarist pushed a woman down and fled to the back yard. The report indicates that police officers then found him behind a fence near his house and charged the officers with a knife. O'Brien was then taken down and arrested.

Cannibal Corpse's record label, Metal Blade, has no comment on the matters.

Yesterday, it was announced that Cannibal Corpse would be featured alongside Lamb of God and Amon Amarth as support on Slayer's 2019 North American leg of their ongoing farewell tour.
