Gamescom is right around the corner, and Sledgehammer Games plans on unveiling Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare's anticipated multiplayer gameplay at the event.

Microsoft's Larry 'Major Nelson' Hryb has announced that Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare's multiplayer gameplay will be officially unveiled at Gamescom. Gamescom takes place in Cologne, Germany, and Xbox Live will be streaming the event for its subscribers to watch online. We will finally get an explanation as to how Advanced Warfare's online aspects will play, along with exclusive interviews with Sledgehammer Games and a new multiplayer trailer.

The event will stream on August 11 at 1PM EDT for Xbox Live subscribers. Of course, the Gamescom footage will likely appear on YouTube a short while after.

It might be set in the future, but Advanced Warfare better get its Call of Duty gun sound effects correct.
