Buzz Adams and Jesse Ventura Fight over Whether the Founding Fathers Smoked Weed

The former Governor of Minnesota has written a new book called Jesse Ventura's Marijuana Manifesto.

In it he argues that marijuana should be legal (which I agree with) and he goes into the history of the U.S. government and weed.

In the interview, Ventura cites two erroneous myths: 1.) That George Washington and Thomas Jefferson grew marijuana for consumption purposes and 2.) That William Randolph Hearst was the force majeure behind the cultivation of hemp being made illegal.

I tried to correct him but he does what Jesse Ventura always does: he repeats his bad information again but in a louder and more aggressive voice.

There are numerous pro-legalization arguments that can be made without resorting to tired and fully discredited historical inaccuracies. It's a shame that Jesse Ventura feels he has to trot these lame arguments out but he seems to always be eager to fall for conspiracy theories both new and old.
