Blue Rose Code, ‘Whitechapel’ – Free MP3 Download

Singer-songwriter Ross Wilson has had a rough life. The U.K.-raised musician grew up with his grandmother in Edinburgh, where he often skipped school and got heavily into drugs and alcohol. Though he chased a musical dream for years, Wilson’s addictions kept him from any tangible success.

But after a short stint in Brooklyn, N.Y., the singer got clean and realized that music was more important than ever. He went back to London and resumed his prior identity as Blue Rose Code -- a soft, endearing folk project.

His newest single, 'Whitechapel,' is a slowly plucked ballad filled with sombre strings and Ross’s mellow vocals. It’s the perfect introduction to his plaintive body of work.

"When I first moved to London, I moved for the anonymity, to get lost in the crowd," he tells Diffuser.fm. "I wanted to know no one and for no one to know me. Instead, what I found was the first real of community I'd known, in East London, in Whitechapel."
