Blink-182 raised a few eyebrows when they announced that Alkaline Trio's Matt Skiba would be playing in place of Tom DeLonge at the band's scheduled MusInk Festival appearance. What followed was a lot of drama between DeLonge and his Blink brothers Mark Hoppus and Travis Barker as they debated his status in the band. But with the MusInk Festival fast approaching, Blink decided to get in a show with Skiba before their festival appearance.

The group took over The Roxy in Los Angeles for a show Wednesday night (March 18) so they could get a feel for the stage before this weekend's festival appearance. Mark Hoppus told the crowd of Skiba, "He's new here, but he loves every one of you so very, very much."

The band opened the show with "Feeling This" from their self-titled 2003 album, the first of many hits performed throughout the night. Fan-shot footage of the performance can be seen above. Tracks like "The Rock Show," "I Miss You," "First Date," "All the Small Things" and "Man Overboard" also populated the body of the set. The show also included a cover of Misfits' "Skulls." As for the encore, it included "Violence," "Dammit" and "Family Reunion." You can check out more fan-shot footage of the group's first performance with Skiba below.

As for the MusInk Festival, it kicks off tomorrow (March 20) at the OC Fair and Event Center in Costa Mesa, Calif. Blink-182 are set to headline the Sunday performance. Tickets can be purchased here. At this point, Skiba has only been confirmed for the one performance.
