Don't worry, everyone will get to play cops and robbers now that DICE said it will have open beta testing for Battlefield Hardline on Xbox One, Xbox 360 and PS3.

In an interview with Total Xbox, Karl-Magnus Troedsson, general manager of DICE, said there will be a beta of Battlefield Hardline on Xbox One and last-gen systems prior to its October release. He also said that this stage of beta testing will be much different than what was recently offered on PC and PlayStation 4.

"We will have a beta on all platforms before release," Troedsson said. "But it won't be this beta on Xbox. It's not going to be the same version, just to be clear."

DICE and Visceral Games are working hard to ensure that the debut of Battlefield Hardline will not have any of the technical errors, server issues and bugs that haunted Battlefield 4's early days. "We basically have code in the hands of players already, here at E3. We've never done that before," said Troedsson. "We do it both because we want their feedback of course, but also because in the background we are testing various things. We're going to continue doing more tests like this."

Troedsson did not give any hints as to what else we should expect in these later stages of beta testing and he did not mention any sort of launch window for it. We expect to see this next beta test occur sometime during the end of summer or early fall so there's enough time to iron out the kinks before Battlefield Hardline's Oct. 21 launch for Xbox 360, Xbox One, PC, PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4.
