Over the weekend, I was hanging out with my brothers and chilling in the living room when one of them turned the TV over to an Avenged Sevenfold concert he had recorded. As I watched the show, I realized that I had never seen A7X live in concert. So, that got me thinking about other bands that I dig, but haven't seen in concert. With 17 years in radio, and tons of concerts I've been to, this list may surprise you.

    Avenged Sevenfold

Sadly, I have never seen one of the biggest and baddest bands out there. Even more sad is the fact I never got to see one of the best rock drummers of our time, Jimmy 'The Rev' Sullivan. Judging by the concert footage I watched, the band puts on an amazing show. I can't even imagine what it would be like, to be there in person.

    Foo Fighters

The Foo Fighters, in my opinion, are not only one of the greatest bands of our time, but one of the coolest as well. Dave Grohl and company are musical geniuses who have more soul and energy in one finger than most bands have their entire career. It's not like I haven't had the opportunity to go see them. It just seems that something always comes up.

    Tool

I've seen Maynard's other band, A Perfect Circle, a handful of times, but have yet to see the mighty Tool live in concert. Yeah, I know - what a loser! I understand that when it comes to visual effects, Tool is one of the best shows to check out.

    Atreyu

I still kick myself in the butt over missing Atreyu when they came to Abilene a few years ago. I remember being sick with a fever, and I just couldn't get out of bed to go check them out. Trust me, I tried, but it was not to happen on that day. Still ticks me off.

    Led Zeppelin

Yes, even at my very old age, I have never seen one of the pioneers of rock n' roll in concert - Led Zeppelin. How cool would it have been back in the day to be at one of their shows? If they ever reunite for a tour, which is highly unlikely, I would be there in a heartbeat.

    Dream Theater

Ever since I heard the single 'Pull Me Under' back around 1993, I've been a huge fan of Dream Theater. But, as big of a fan I am, I've never seen them in concert. I was going to go seem them a few years back when they toured with Iron Maiden, but, again, something came up and was not able to go.

    Motley Crue

I know it may sound weird, but out of all my time in radio, and going to concerts, I have yet to see Motley Crue. Once again, it's not like I haven't had the opportunity. I honestly don't know why seeing this band live has eluded me for all of these years. Now, I've seen Tommy Lee with Methods of Mayhem at Ozzfest one year, but never the whole band together. Weird, right?

    ZZ Top

How is it that a dude from Texas has never been to a ZZ Top show?  I honestly can tell you that it's just never really crossed my mind, until now, that I haven't seen the most famous trio from Texas ever in concert. I guess I need to get on that before they get too old to flip their guitars around.

    Seether

Believe it or not, I have not seen Seether live in concert. Fortunately, this is one band I get to mark off my list when they come to Abilene on August 28th.
