Are We Spoiling Our Kids with Gadgets? [POLL]
Every time you turn around there is something new the kids want. A Kindle isn’t enough, now they want the Kindle Fire. A cell phone isn’t enough now they want the iPhone 4S. The Wii wasn’t enough now they want Playstation 3. I had an Atari, di

Beautiful Texas Wildflowers [PICTURES]
Spring in Texas means beautiful wildflowers. You see them growing on the side of the highway and they are just full of color. I love spring time just for this reason, of course, it also means allergies of which I am not fond. Sometimes when you’re driving you don’t have time to stop and take pictures but I did just that recently.

Relay for Life 2012 [PICTURES]
I mentioned a week or so back that I was doing Relay for Life for the first time this year. The company put together a team in my honor this year and I have to say it was an amazing event. You don’t realize how cancer touches everyone in some way until you go to an event such as Relay.

Do You Feel You Have to Dress Up for Church? [POLL]
I’m a little on the fence on the question of dressing up for church. I was raised that you wore a dress (girls) and slacks (boys), there was no wearing of shorts unless they were
“dressy”. We had our “Church Clothes/Sunday Best” and they weren’t worn to play in, they were for church. It seems though these days the rules are much more relaxed and pretty much as long as you show up it doesn’t matter what you wear to church. I’ve even seen tank tops and flip flops being worn. I believe that as long as you are there to receive God’s message he probably doesn’t mind your dress code. However, I also think that you should at least put a little effort into it and try to dress with a little decorum.

Do You Prefer Toilet Paper With or Without Lotion? [POLL]
While shopping yesterday I overheard an interesting conversation. I have had the same conversation but not in the store with others around, however.
The debate between these two people was whether or not they were going to buy the toilet paper with lotion or not. The ar

What Kind of Reality Show Would Your Life Be? [VIDEO]
I’m sitting here watching Duck Dynasty on A&E Channel. So I’m thinking you can apparently make a reality show out of anything these days. It seems to me that folks in television have no more creativity so it’s easier to just throw out an idea and see what happens. There are some scripted shows out there that are really great but they are few and far between, in my opinion. Although I do admit Duck Dynasty is pretty funny.

Where is the Best Place to Fish in the Abilene Area [POLL]
It’s getting time to pull the boat out, dust it off and head to the lake for some fishing. Honey and I were just talking about the beautiful weather we’ve had and it being time to get out and do some crappie fishing. Last year we went to Ft. Phantom and caught some very small fish. However, it was late in the summer and we didn’t get to go out but 2 or 3 times. We want to start earlier this year and enjoy not only fishing but just boating in general.

Abilene Ballet Theatre Performs "Coppelia" This Weekend
Abilene Ballet Theatre brings grace and beauty to the Paramount stage again this weekend performing “Coppelia”. This might not be a story line you are familiar with but you won’t be disappointed. Under the artistic direction of Nancy Gore and Lisa Gore-Etter and associate artistic director Lindsay Perry McGill “Coppelia” is the story of a young couple (Swanilda and Franz) from a small village engaged to be married.
