Mother's Day is upon us once again and that means putting the thinking cap on and getting mom something nice to let her know how much you appreciate her. There are a few gifts that are on the 'no,no' list when it comes to Mother's Day though. While you may think they are thoughtful and practical Mom will not see them as such. To help you out here are a few things to “not” get mom this Mother's Day.
The Western Heritage Classic is back this Thursday through Saturday bringing lots of fun and visitors to the Abilene area. The event has been bringing ranchers, rodeo cowboys and spectators to Abilene since 1985. It didn’t have the name “Western Heritage” at the time and it was a small 5 event competition for some local ranch hands. Over the years the event has grown to be a major part of the spring line up at the Taylor Co. Coliseum and brings in some of the biggest and best ranches around to compete for honors and braggin’ rights.

While watching last nights episode of Dancing with the Stars they had a feature singer, it was Classical week, and she performed “Ave, Maria” and “Dark Waltz”. Now I can’t carry a tune in a bucket but I do know a great singer when I hear one. This little girl is absolutely incredible.
