Kiwanis of Abilene to Host the 65th Annual Pancake Day April 26th

The Kiwanis Club of Abilene is hosting their "65th Annual All You Can Eat Pancake Day and Auction" Saturday April 26th, 2014. This years event at the Abilene Civic Center is sponsored by I-Hop. I-Hop provides all the pancake batter for this event, plus some key 'I-Hop personnel' to mix up the secret recipe batter for the pancakes. Is This the Case of a Lousy Shooter or a Deaf Deer? You be the Judge

As I'm watching this video, I thought 'that deer is dead, this hunter is about to bag a real nice trophy buck'. Then half way through the video I'm cheering for the deer and laughing my butt off. Is this guy that lousy of a shot? Is his scope that far off? Then I begin to wonder 'could this be the case of a deaf deer?' It could happen, but I'm more inclined to believe the hunter is experiencing "buck fever" and he needs to have his rifle and scope checked. Take a look at it and tell what your thoughts are.

A Black Crow Named “007” Proves That Birds Really Are Smart

I've often used the term "bird brain" to describe someone who wasn't all that smart. After watching this video, I will have to redefine my term to mean 'really smart'. According to the Huffington Post, British researcher Dr Alex Taylor set up a rather complex set of problems for a bird to solve. The video from the BBC-Two TV show "Inside the Animal Mind", shows a crow (named 007) quickly going about problem solving and getting the tasks completed. I was amazed to say the least, check it out and tell me what you think.

The Benefit Fundraiser for 16 Month Old Addison Grace is Jan. 31st – Feb. 2nd in Abilene


Addison Grace is a 16 month old little girl that has been fighting to stay alive. She was born with a very rare heart defect and at 3 months old, Addison underwent open heart surgery. One month later she was diagnosed with a very rare form of cancer called "Fibrosarcoma" and she's still fighting for her life. A benefit fundraiser, auction and raffle has been set up to help Addison's mom and dad offset some of her medical expenses.
