Watch On Duty Police Officers Play Basketball With Kids in the Middle of the Street

On duty Kansas City police officers stopped to play a friendly game of three on three. Not only did the cops drop in on these kids, but it appears that one officer used his patrol car to block off the street from oncoming traffic. "As I watched this news report, I thought about the benefits of the kids having a good experience with law enforcement, but I also wondered if there wasn't something better these three police officers could be doing to protect and serve." Hunt the Ghost of Marshall Tom Hill on the Anniversary of His Death at the Buffalo Gap Historic Village

The Buffalo Gap Historic Village is hosting a special celebration in remembrance of Marshall Tom Hill on the 128th anniversary of his death. This is a nighttime event that starts at 11 PM and lasts until 1 AM. You are encouraged to bring your cameras and recorders as you spend the night in Tom's house where he died. Organizers hope to get a glimpse of Tom's ghost and maybe speak with him. Space is limited so get your tickets early. I'd like to add that this is the same hunt that Pete Beretta went on, when he had the 'Milk Duds' scared out of him.

The Worst Case of Animal Abuse in West Texas – Graphic Images

Rescue The Animals (RTA)/SPCA in Abilene responded to a call of animal abuse near Gorman, Texas. SPCA Investigator Mindi Qualls says "it's the worst case ever of animal abuse that I have ever come upon." Mindi told me that, what she found was a nightmare and it made her physically ill. After I viewed the photos and the videos, I too was sickened and became emotional as I wondered "who would do this to an animal?" I will warn you now, this contains graphic images.

Oscar Rose Park’s 100th Birthday Celebration is July 12th at the Rose Park

The City of Abilene and the Cultural Affairs Council are working together to bring a city-wide birthday celebration and event together this Saturday, July 12th at Rose Park. There will be tours of the Oscar Rose Park facilities, a fun run/walk thru the park, Happy Birthday cake and cupcakes, archery shooting, rollerskating, dunking booth, Bocce open court, bounce houses, swimming at the Rose park pool, live entertainment and lots more fun festivities. Quincy California Police Officers Prank Innocent Drivers in This Hilarious Video

A couple of Quincy, California Police officers took to the streets to show off a 'kinder, gentler' side of the badge. They pulled over unsuspecting innocent drivers and made them believe they'd done something wrong. Instead of citations, the cops gave the drivers some ice cream. One driver was was so shaken by it, she was crying. Check it out.

It's almost time for the Third Annual Stephens Memorial Hospital (SMH) Fall Hunters Skeet Shoot and Dance in Breckenridge. The skeet/clay shoot will be held at the Hubbard Creek Ranch near Breckenridge, while the dance featuring Bleu Edmondson will be at the Stephens County Airport in Breckenridge. This event is a benefit fundraiser for the SMH.

Dozens Injured When a Two-Story Garage Roof Collapsed During A Religious Ceremony

Houston TV station KPRC is reporting that dozens have been injured when the roof of a two-story garage/dwelling collapsed in a Harris County neighborhood. Houston firefighters say they've removed everyone from inside the structure and sent those with the most severe injuries to area hospitals. Neighbors believed a religious ceremony was taking place at the time of the collapse. Arial video shows a first responders triaging the injured.

Space is very limited, so if you'd like your child to attend this years 'Summer Safety Camp' at the Melvin Martin Center for Children's Safety then sign up today. This year's first and only camp is set for July 21st through July 24th. Abilene Fire Department PIO Mike Miller says "space is very limited, and parents are urged to register their kids as soon as possible." This camp is only open to children going into the 2nd, 3rd or 4th grade when school starts in August.

The Texas Army National Guard’s “Lone Star Band” Will Perform at the Abilene Zoo June 28th

The Abilene Zoo is hosting the the Texas Army National Guard's “Lone Star Band” and the event is called a “Salute to America.” Zoo Marketing Director Kelly Thompson says "the Abilene Zoological Society has declared the concert in honor of the area’s first responders like: volunteer firefighters, sheriffs’ deputies, city police and fire departments, emergency medical services and the military, but the event is open to everyone who wants to attend."

The ACU Summer Shakespeare Festival is back featuring two plays. The first is the classic "Macbeth," a play of murder, witches and prophecy and is portrayed in the heart of the 1930s Mafia. The second is "William Shakespeare’s Land Of The Dead" a hilarious comedy about life in the Globe playhouse that takes a turn for the worse. As an epidemic spreads through London, the Globe is quarantined and the survivors within must fight for their lives. Great seats are still available.
