Dyess Air Force Base Air Show Coming to Abilene
Get ready for the sights and sounds of skydiving, jet engines, mock aerial dog fights and awesome aerobatics, all performed over the skies of Dyess Air Force Base in Abilene. This year, the Big Country Air fest is scheduled for Saturday April 28th with the Tye gate opening to the public at 8am.

Abilene High Band Boosters Partner With Ford to Raise Money
I drove by Abilene High School Saturday afternoon and saw what looked like a couple hundred people standing around a dozen new cars in the main parking lot while the bands percussion section was playing Caribbean music. I stopped and asked, I learned that Ford Motor Company, Arrow Ford and the bands booster club had teamed up together to raise money through Fords ‘Drive One 4UR School’ event.

Taylor County Sheriffs Race is Heating Up in Abilene
The race for the Sheriffs office in Abilene is promising to be a heated race as the candidates pour their feelings and experience into their campaigns. Hardin Simmons University social work students will be holding an ‘Open Public Forum’ on campus April 24th. Their goal is to distinguish the clear differences between all three candidates. Guess who the HSU students have coming to the ‘Open Public Forum’?
