Born on the outskirts of Motown and raised in the shadow of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, Joe has been writing about rock music since interviewing Shudder to Think's Craig Wedren for his high school newspaper -- back when bands like Shudder to Think were recording for major labels. He's written for the Cleveland Free Times, Alternative Press, the Village Voice, SuicideGirls and a variety of other online publications and blogs, some of which have not existed in years. He started with Townsquare in 2011 writing for Loudwire and Ultimate Classic Rock, and has been with Diffuser.fm since it launched in spring 2012.

Four early Husker Du rarities are getting the reissue treatment as part of a double 7-inch set that's due out on Record Store Day 2013. The band's first-ever single, 1981's 'Amusement,' will be released on April 20 at participating record stores with the B-side 'Statues,' packaged together with an additional 7-inch featuring the tunes 'Writer's Cramp' and 'Let's Go Die.'

Authorities in London made the announcement today (Jan. 8), and while the initial inquest into Winehouse's July 23, 2011, death ended with the same conclusion, it was annulled last year, when it was discovered that the coroner who conducted the investigation was not properly qualified at the time, reports Rolling Stone.

Beck’s ‘Song Reader’ Fan Interpretations Posted Online

Earlier this year, when Beck announced plans to release his 'Song Reader' book, which features sheet music for 20 songs he wrote but hasn't recorded, he hoped other musicians would take on the challenge of piecing together the tunes and maybe even try recording them. First, a NIN greatest-hits collection featuring two new, previously unreleased songs will be issued sometime in 2014, followed by a new Nails album sometime later in the year. The second revelation?
