They got a better result last night, returning the favor by beating the Celtics on their home court and forcing a Game Seven. However, Miami’s interactions with the crowd at the Boston Garden did prove to be a little more dicey.
Last Friday, Beth Gresham noticed something very troubling in her Memphis neighborhood. A puppy who had somehow gotten her head stuck in a plastic container.
Being an animal lover, Gresham knew how vulnerable the pup was without any ability to eat or defend herself. So she tried her best to grab the dog and free its head. However, the pooch was too scared and ran away into the woods.
The raucous comedy ‘Old School’ came out almost ten years ago. (And, yes, that is making us feel a bit old ourselves.) It didn’t neccesarily help to see the movie’s three stars, Will Ferrell, Vince Vaughn and Luke Wilson, all looking even more middle-aged during a reunion at Spike TV’s Guys Choice Awards.
As you’ve surely already heard, last week there was a horrendous crime in Miami where a man was shot to death by police as he was chewing off a good part of another man’s face. This was just one of a recent spate of gruesome incidents involving cannibalism and body parts that have led some to suggest the “zombie apocalypse,” which has been so prevalent in pop culture as of late, is very real and upon us.
So maybe it’s not the best time to dress up like a zombie and go around trying to scare people. Especially in Miami, which was where Vitaly Zdorovetskiy pulled this questionable prank. See what happened.
Brendan Haas came up with a pretty cool way to give back to military families. Inspired by the famous story of the guy who through a long chain of Craigslist trades was able to turn a paperclip into a house, a nine-year old launched what he called the “Soldier for a Soldier” initiative. Starting with a toy soldier, Haas kept trading up until he amassed $900 worth of Disney gift certificates, airfare and hotel credits.
As you may remember, Sarah Tressler was fired from her job as a society reporter with the Houston Chronicle for being a stripper on the side. It should come as no surprise that her unique combination of writing skills, and a side job that required her to be naked, has snagged Tressler a book deal.
It seemed simple enough: a free app in which Mitt Romney supporters could take a photo and then send it out to Facebook or Twitter with one of 14 Romney campaign approved slogan like “I’m a Mom For Mitt” superimposed on it.
The app launched yesterday, to coincide with Romney officially capturing the GOP nomination by winning the primary in Texas. Everything would have been great except that there was a misspelling in one of the pre-approved slogans. And what a misspelling it was.
Bob Saget has had an interesting career. Originally a stand-up comic known for his very vulgar material, he is most famous for playing patriarch Danny Tanner on ‘Full House,’ a family-oriented sitcom. Since his time with Uncle Jesse, the Olsen Twins and the rest, Saget has settled into a comfortable life of being famous for being Bob Saget.
But, over the weekend, he showed off a much more active skill. The 56-year-old sang the national anthem before a Chicago White Soxs game. So how did he do?
Do remember Makin’ Whoopie Pie? You could buy that Ben & Jerry’s flavor, which was chocolate ice cream augmented by marshmallows and devil’s food cooks, 10 years ago. Unfortunately, the concoction didn’t prove popular enough and the Vermont-based ice cream makers laid Makin’ Whoopie Pie to rest in 2003. Literally.
