You've got to love it when 'SNL' forces its major movie star guest hosts to do really, really silly stuff and you honestly don't get much sillier than Bruce Willis playing a centaur. The only thing you can complain about here is that Willis is playing a guy playing centaur instead of a real centaur, but that may have been just a little too much perfect for a single sketch.
It wouldn't be a proper episode of 'SNL' without a decent commercial parody and the latest episode offered one that is so bizarrely specific that it ends up being kind of perfect. It's an ad for the latest version of 24 Hour Energy Drink -- but it's made specifically for men who are dating actresses.
Prior to last night's episode of 'SNL,' many people were wondering just how much the notoriously macho Bruce Willis was going to be willing to engage in the sketch show's typical shenanigans. It turns out that the 'Die Hard' star was more than willing to get downright silly for the sake of a few laughs. Yes, the video above features Willis dancing and rapping like a fool and yes, it's everything you want it to be.
The timing of the new 'The Secret Life of Walter Mitty' trailer is impeccable. Ben Stiller's latest effort as a director premiered to mixed-but-passionate reviews at the New York Film Festival this past weekend and this new look at the film feels prepared to ride that buzz all the way to film's December release (and the 2014 Oscars?).
There are few 'SNL' sketches as reliably funny as fake screen tests, which give the cast the opportunity to show off their best and craziest celebrity impersonations. It felt especially important in the most recent Miley Cyrus-hosted episode of the show -- with so many of the big names gone, this was a chance for the lesser known cast members to step up to the plate. And you know what? They did. Mostly.
Three years after 'The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader' seemingly killed off the franchise, it looks like we'll be heading back to Narnia for a fourth time. For better or for worse, 'The Chronicles of Narnia: The Silver Chair' has been announced and is entering development as we speak.
'The Wolverine' was one of the most pleasant surprises of the summer, a shockingly low key and self-contained superhero story that valued its characters above action. Well, at least until the third act, but that's a complaint for another time and place. The good news is that 'The Wolverine' DVD and Blu-ray will arrive on December 3 with an unrated version, allowing for more Wolverine-stabs-ninjas action than ever before!
Now that Bill Hader and Stefon have departed the show, we find ourselves treasuring every other recurring 'SNL' character and treating every appearance as if it's their last. That's just a long-winded way of saying "Welcome back, Drunk Uncle!" Bobby Moynihan's rambling, all-too honest (and all-too real) character once again graced the Weekend Update desk with his presence, updating us with his thoughts on current events and introducing us to a member of his extended family.
We're not entirely sure when Vanessa Bayer and Cecily Strong's porn stars turned TV saleswomen become two of our favorite recurring 'SNL' characters, but bless 'em: we're so glad that these bizarre people get to grace our television a couple times a year. Of course, the only way to possibly make it better is to add Tina Fey, and wouldn't you know it, the legendary 'SNL' alum stepped in quite gamely in the 39th season premiere!
'SNL' has never been shy about taking on some of the most popular and controversial topics in the modern world, so it's about time it finally got around to making fun of HBO's divisive 'Girls.' In a fake promo for a new season of Lena Dunham's acclaimed show, guest host Tina Fey and the rest of the cast propose some changes to the program's dynamic that we can't help but wish would actually come to pass.
The latest '+1' trailer may initially make the film look like a fairly normal "teens go partying and learn life lessons" movie, but there's a lot more going on. After all, a movie about a party is just another teen flick, but a movie about a party where a freak supernatural occurrence causes a group of friends to go back in time and relive the party with their past selves is something else altogether.
The 'Toy Story' gang may have had a memorable cinematic farewell with the wonderful 'Toy Story 3,' but we're not done with Bonnie's (formerly Andy's) toys quite yet! The Woody, Buzz and the rest of the group are going to make their television debut with 'Toy Story of Terror,' a made-for-TV Halloween special that will attempt to bring some of that Pixar magic to the small screen. The first two promos for the special have arrived and ... it looks like more 'Toy Story.' That's a good thing, right?
