Joining a long line of rock and metal musicians who have come out to support Lamb of God vocalist Randy Blythe, Children of Bodom frontman Alexi Laiho has released a video sending his best wishes to Blythe. Still locked away in the Czech Republic, Blythe could possibly be let out soon if the prosecutor’s challenge of the vocalist’s posted bail is dismissed by the judge.
Maynard James Keenan of Tool, A Perfect Circle and Puscifer recently made an appearance on comedian and ‘Fear Factor’ host Joe Rogan’s podcast, The Joe Rogan Experience. In the interview, which lasted for well over two hours, Keenan and Rogan talked about a huge variety of topics, including the vocalist’s wine endeavors and the current status of A Perfect Circle.
The fact that the original members of Black Sabbath weren’t able to undertake a full-on world tour in 2012 was devastating to Sabbath fans. Guitarist Tony Iommi‘s cancer diagnosis stuck a knife into the heart of Sabbath fans, and reduced Sabbath to playing only three live shows this year, with their one U.S. date happening on Aug. 3 at Lollapalooza. Add to that drummer Bill Ward ‘s contract dispute, which resulted in his departure from the band, and the reunion that was announced on Nov. 11, 2011, didn’t pan out as originally planned.
System of a Down announced their hiatus in 2006, eventually returning once again as a cohesive unit in late 2010. However, bassist Shavo Odadjian recently revealed that he never considered System of a Down to have been broken up, despite what many fans perceived about the band’s five-year halt. Furthermore, Shavo has gone even further to reassure fans, stating that he believes the band will “never break up.”
Green Day frontman Billie Joe Armstrong has joined up with the NBC reality talent show ‘The Voice.’ The TV singing competition will see a bit of a punk rock edge with Armstrong’s inclusion, but don’t expect the musician to grab a seat in one of those revolving chair things, as Armstrong will serve strictly as a mentor to Christina Aguilera’s team.
Due to Randy Blythe‘s month-long incarceration in the Czech Republic, an incredible amount of attention has been placed on not only the Czech Republic itself, but also its legal system. Awaiting a ruling on whether Blythe’s bail will be approved after it was contested a second time by a Czech prosecutor, the Lamb of God vocalist remains in Pankrac Prison. Although this news has become well-known, the lesser-known, yet incredibly violent history of where Blythe finds himself caged, is disturbingly fascinating in its own right.

Tool are currently in the process of writing one of hard rock’s most anticipated albums. With the band’s last album, ’10,000 Days,’ having been released in 2006, Tool fans have been mentally pacing in circles, awaiting a taste of new materials from their psychedelic heroes.
