Why should the Justin Biebers and Jonas Brothers of the world be the only ones getting 3D concert films? For those of you who have been yearning for something a little more hard-sounding in the theater, you can mark down August as a month to look toward.
Because Metallica will be releasing their own 3D concert film, 'Metallica Through the Never.'
'Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs 2,' the highly-anticipated sequel to 2009's surprise hit doesn't come out until the fall, but thankfully we have a first look at the animated pic right now: a lovely new image that shows off the movie's bevy of "food-imals," which are just what they sound like! Shrimpanzees anyone?
Michael Shannon has played more than a few nefarious types in his career, but none of them come close to Richard Kuklinski, aka "The Iceman." A vicious hitman with at least 100 corpses to his credit, he's all the more horrifying because Kuklinski was actually a real person. And 'The Iceman' is his story.
Check out the new trailer for the crime thriller after the break.
"To 3D or not to 3D?" is a question moviegoers often have to ask themselves when hitting the multiplex to see the latest blockbuster, but the debate doesn't stop at the paying customer. Sometimes it's the filmmakers themselves who are dubious about the technology, even as they work with it. This issue has come to light after J.J. Abrams revealed that he himself was not sold on converting his latest, 'Star Trek Into Darkness,' into 3D initially. In fact, he had it forced upon him by the studio.
Let this be an inspiration to all you aspiring writers: you just never know where and when you might be discovered. Take 'Rome, Sweet Rome,' for example: the project was born on the social news and entertainment site Reddit, and now it's moving forward at a major studio. The internet really is good for something!
Anthony Mackie is on a roll. The actor has appeared in eight movies over the last two years (including the just-released 'Gangster Squad'), and has four more due out in 2013. In 2014, he'll play in front of his largest audience yet as The Falcon in 'Captain America: The Winter Soldier'.
Mackie recently revealed a few minor but exciting details about his character and you can read all about them after the break.
Violence in pop culture and its relation to real-life violence and 'Django Unchained': these are white hot controversies streaming through the public discourse right now. This is must-see TV, folks.
The latest poster for Walter Hill's 'Bullet to the Head,' starring Sylvester Stallone, is sticking with the first poster's tagline, "Revenge Never Gets Old." Guess it still fits. However, it has added a few more faces to liven things up.
Before he was an Oscar winner, Danny Boyle was best known for quirky, semi-surreal movies with bite like ‘Shallow Grave’ and ‘Trainspotting.' He looks to be returning to that form a bit with ‘Trance,' a wild crime thriller due out this spring. The trailer for the film, which stars James McAvoy, Rosario Dawson and Vincent Cassel, has just burst online and you can watch it after the break.
In news that comes as neither surprising nor exciting (it was hinted at a few days ago), it has been officially announced that a sequel to the successful-enough 'Texas Chainsaw 3D' has been greenlit and shooting will commence later this year. But that's not the most interesting part.
The title of the film will be 'Texas Chainsaw 4, and you're correct in thinking that title makes little sense at all.
Admit it, no matter how silly 'The Last Stand' looks, a little smile comes across your face when thinking about Arnold Schwarzenegger play hero in an action movie once again. Besides, it doesn't appear to be taking itself too seriously, and it wasn't directed by a hack but the exciting Korean talent Kim Jee-Woon.
To get you further pumped for the flick, opening in a few short weeks, the first clip has hit the airwaves, featuring features plenty of gunfire, running and an Arnold quip. It's like the '80s all over again!
'The Last Exorcism' was a surprise hit in 2010, making over $67 million worldwide off a budget of less than $2 million.
