Though we're still months away from the release of Marc Webb's 'The Amazing Spider-Man 2,' the film is preparing a marketing blitz that should last until the film hits theaters in May. The film now has a new poster, which shows a storm brewing.
Though it's been rumored for a while, Sony has made steps to get a 'Bad Boys 3' off the ground and is looking to hire a writer to pen a third entry in the franchise. That doesn't mean that Will Smith, Michael Bay or Martin Lawrence will return, but it's a start.
We still don't have much of a read on 'Batman Vs. Superman' (or whatever they call it, it's currently listed as 'The Untitled Zack Snyder Super Hero Film') other than it seems to be a super-sized warm up for 'Justice League.' And with Jason Momoa is in talks to join the cast for an unknown role, perhaps it's actually the 'Justice League' movie after all.
It seems ever since 'Bad Santa' any film that features adults acting horrendously around children must have the word 'Bad' in the title. Joining 'Teacher' and 'Santa' is 'Bad Words,' which Jason Bateman directed and stars in as a 40-year-old man who competes against children in a national spelling bee.
One of 2012's most pleasant surprises was Christopher McQuarrie's 'Jack Reacher,' which starred Tom Cruise as the titular bad ass. As it was based on a series of books by Lee Child it seemed ready to spawn a franchise, but the film's modestly-hyped Christmas release suggested that Paramount didn't know if they had a winner. The film was a modest success, and now Paramount is working on developing a sequel.
When George Lucas sold his 'Star Wars' empire to Disney, there was a question of who then would control Indiana Jones, as the films were made by Lucasfilm but distributed by Paramount. Today it was ironed out that Disney now controls the rights to all future Indiana Jones adventures.
Sony is starting their marketing blitz for 'The Amazing Spider-Man 2,' a move that should culminate Thursday with the release of the film's first trailer. But before we get to see these characters in motion, new stills have emerged to highlight the hero and his new main villain Electro (Jamie Foxx).
This past week saw the fiftieth anniversary of the assassination of President John F. Kennedy, an event that has left many still pondering what really happened at Dealey Plaza, and if Lee Harvey Oswald acted alone. The latest conspiracy theory is completely fictional, but believable in its way: 'X-Men: Days of Future Past' character Magneto (Michael Fassbender) caused the bullets to behave as they did.
Ben Stiller's 'The Secret Life of Walter Mitty' has already screened for numerous critics, which shows that Fox and Stiller think (or thought) they have an Oscar picture on their hands. Which may be why they've released multiple trailers to get audiences familiar with Stiller's Mitty and his flights of fancy.
