‘Office Christmas Party’ Trailer: T.J. Miller, Kate McKinnon and Jason Bateman Blow Off Some Steam
“A bunch of hilarious people have one crazy, drunken night” is a familiar plot, and thanks to last year’s The Night Before, we’ve seen what happens when you put that in the context of holiday spirit — which makes this trailer for Office Christmas Party kind of impressive, considering how amusing it looks despite the fact that it feels like something we’ve seen before (Jillian Bell included).
New Netflix Instant Releases: August 2016
It’s a little later than usual, but Netflix has finally announced their upcoming streaming releases for August — which is next week, by the way. Among this month’s offerings are new Netflix Original titles, like Baz Luhrmann’s series The Get Down and the animated adaptation of The Little Prince. As usual, there are several new films hitting the streaming library, including contemporary favorites like Blue Is the Warmest Color and No Country for Old Men. Read on for our full guide to August’s new Netflix Instant Releases.
‘A Tale of Love and Darkness’ Trailer: Natalie Portman Makes a Dramatic Directorial Debut
After premiering at last year’s Cannes Film Festival, Natalie Portman’s directorial debut is finally heading to theaters — well, relatively soon. Although the film does not yet have an official release date, the first English-language trailer for A Tale of Love and Darkness has arrived, and it looks like Portman is just as talented behind the camera as she is in front of it.
‘The LEGO Batman Movie’ Gets a Hilarious New Trailer For Comic-Con
To be honest, we were already sold on The LEGO Batman Movie based on the hilarious teaser alone, but after getting our first look at The Joker and Robin (and Harley Quinn!) earlier this week, we’ve been looking forward to watching a full trailer for the mini-Dark Knight’s animated adventure. And now that trailer has officially arrived, giving us a better sneak peek at The LEGO Movie spinoff starring Will Arnett’s delightfully narcissistic Batman.
‘Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them’ Trailer Invades Comic-Con With Magical New Footage
Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them hits theaters in November, returning Harry Potter fans to J.K. Rowling’s wizarding world — or a different corner of it, anyway. Warner Bros. brought the first film in their magical spinoff trilogy to Comic-Con 2016, where they debuted a rather, uh, fantastic new trailer featuring plenty of beasts, indeed.
Gal Gadot Reveals a Gorgeous New ‘Wonder Woman’ Poster
There may be less movie panels at Comic-Con 2016 than in any recent year, but Warner Bros. is still bringing several of their upcoming blockbusters to Hall H tomorrow — that includes Wonder Woman, the highly-anticipated solo film starring Batman v Superman scene-stealer Gal Gadot. Ahead of her appearance in San Diego tomorrow, the actress has debuted a brand new poster for her new movie, and it is beautiful.
‘Star Wars: Episode VIII’ Officially Wraps Production With a Short Video
Filming on Star Wars: Episode VIII has been nearing an end for the past few weeks, as we’ve seen via set photos from director Rian Johnson and Daisy Ridley. As of today, Johnson has officially wrapped production on the upcoming sequel, sharing a very brief video featuring the final slate from the final shot in the film along with a special message of thanks to his cast and crew.
‘Snowden’ Trailer: Watch the Government Watch Joseph Gordon-Levitt Watch You
In some ways, Joseph Gordon-Levitt is a higher-end version of James Franco but occasionally you have to wonder if we’ve allowed him to take himself a little too seriously. Take the latest trailer for Oliver Stone’s Snowden, for instance, which A.) Reminds you that this is a movie that is still coming out soon, and B.) Features one of the most baffling prestige-acting accents in recent memory.
The Joker and Enchantress Show Off Some Tricks in New ‘Suicide Squad’ Promos
Aside from a few brief glimpses in the trailers, we haven’t seen much of Cara Delevingne’s Enchantress in Suicide Squad. The mystical and mysterious villain is the subject of one of two new promos for David Ayer’s upcoming DC super-villain film, while the other…well, he doesn’t really need an introduction.
‘Before I Wake’ Trailer: Jacob Tremblay’s Nightmares Come True
If horror films have taught us anything over the last several decades, it’s this: Children are creepy as hell. Such is the case in the trailer for Before I Wake, the new film from Oculus director Mike Flanagan, who takes that adorable kid from Room and turns him into a parent’s worst nightmare — literally.
‘Suicide Squad’ Puts the Spotlight on Deadshot, Rick Flag and Amanda Waller in New Clips
The trailers for Suicide Squad have done a fairly good job of letting each member of Task Force X shine, though they have leaned a bit more heavily on Margot Robbie’s Harley Quinn and Jared Leto’s Joker — at least they know their target audience. But these new clips help us get to know some of the other major characters from David Ayer’s DC super-villain ensemble, like Will Smith’s Deadshot and Viola Davis’ Amanda Waller.
‘Star Trek Beyond’ Gets One More Trailer, And It’s a Pretty Good One
Paramount has released the fourth and final trailer for Star Trek Beyond ahead of the film’s July 22 release, and if early word is to be believed (and we think it is), you have every reason to be optimistic about the new sequel. Shorter, punchier and more action-packed than the first three previews, the latest and last trailer may be the best of the bunch, and if nothing else, it looks like Justin Lin was definitely the right pick to replace J.J. Abrams in the director’s chair.
