Lokesh Simon James hit Bliss Cabaret, a strip joint in Clearwater, back in March, spending three hours and $600. That’s a pretty steep bill and probably bought him a couple of lap dances and drinks, along with some tips. No big deal, right? Wrong. When he checked his credit card statement a few days later, he discovered a $50,000 charge from the strip club.

Marilyn Manson‘s dating life is a hot topic. A few months ago, an aspiring filmmaker announced that she was engaged to the shock rocker, which was news to the singer himself. Then a story began circulating that he was dating Canadian pop punk princess Avril Lavigne, which Manson has sort of refuted. Put simply: He’s bored with the not-so-creative rumors. He likes the out-there ones. While Manson says he isn’t dating the punk-pop princess, he does intimate that perhaps they had relations.
While Lamb of God singer Randy Blythe languishes in a jail in the Czech Republic facing manslaughter charges despite posting bail, his supporters came out in full effect in his hometown of Richmond, Va., on Sunday, July 8, staging a rally and vigil. Despite the love, Blythe remains imprisoned, as the prosecutor is protesting his release.
This might sound a bit morbid, but Smashing Pumpkins‘ singer Billy Corgan, who just issued ‘Oceania,’ knows which song he would like to have played at his funeral. Turns out it’s one of the singer-guitarist’s own tunes. That’s not really surprising, given the depth and breadth of the Pumpkins’ expansive catalog of alt rock hits, which dominated the airwaves in the ’90s. So which one did he choose?
First loves and first concerts. Those will always be ingrained in your brain or embedded in your memory. For some, they’re actually the same thing. ‘Today‘ show staffers have been sharing their first concert memories, with a Washington State Coldplay gig in July of 2009 being of particular significance for one, since he was dumped by his girlfriend … on the ride home from the gig. Ouch.
The Cult were involved in a bus crash in Europe this week while traveling in the early morning hours from Split, Croatia, to Ljubijana, Slovenia. Thankfully, there were no fatalities or very serious injuries, but frontman Ian Astbury was pretty banged up in the accident. Judging from the vocalist’s description of the events, things could have been a lot worse, as the bus nearly went over an 80-foot drop.
The new season of CBS reality show ‘Big Brother’ kicks off next Thursday, July 12, at 9PM ET, with a headbanger in the cast. Onetime Kittie bassist Jenn Arroyo, who was with the band from 2002 through 2005, will appear on the show.
Guitar god Zakk Wylde is a proud papa again. Wylde and his lovely wife Barbaranne welcomed their fourth child, son Sabbath Page Wielandt Wylde, into the world last night (July 4). That’s quite the rock ‘n’ roll name, isn’t it?
