Yesterday (May 6th) Paul Crosby, drummer of the band Saliva, called in and we talked about their new lead singer, their new album and the show at The Lucky Mule.

Longtime singer Josey Scott, who was with the band for 15 years, left the band in 2011. This was a huge blow to a band that had been very successful with songs like “Click Click Boom”, “Always”, “Your Disease” and more.  At first, the band didn’t know what to do as far as staying together as Saliva. But, after thinking about, the band decided to find another singer and move forward.

Now, they’re back with new singer Bobby Amaru, a new album, and a tour.

Paul Crosby, drummer for Saliva, called in to the studios and we talked about their new singer, the new album and their show that’s coming up this Thursday (May 9th) at The Lucky Mule Saloon.

The investigation into the Boston Marathon bombing seeped into New Bedford, Mass. on Friday evening with the questioning of several people who knew suspect Dzhokhar Tsarnaev.

After local and state police and FBI agents allegedly searched Dzhokhar Tsarnaev’s UMass Dartmouth dorm room, authorities swarmed to the Rockdale West apartment complex in New Bedford’s West End. Three people, allegedly friends of the Tsarnaev, were taken away with police for questioning.

Joe St. Pierre lives several doors down from the apartment at 69 Carriage Drive, and tells WBSM News he heard an FBI agent yelling at one of the people being taken into custody.

New Bedford Police say the three people in custody are being questioned by the FBI.

One neighbor says he had a friendly relationship with Tsarnaev, and the three who were questioned share the same cell phone bill with the bombing suspect.

Police say Tsarnaev spent a substantial amount of time at the Carriage Drive apartment.

As Alice in Chains‘ newest album, ‘The Devil Put Dinosaurs Here,’ creeps closer and closer, anticipation for the record’s release has been growing towards a peak. Although ‘The Devil Put Dinosaurs Here’ won’t see the light of day until May 28, Alice in Chains have unleashed the new single ‘Stone’ to help you through the wait.

Alice in Chains took 2013 by the throat early in the year, as they revealed the mesmerizing single ‘Hollow’ in January. ‘Hollow’ leapt to the top spot of the active rock chart, which took guitarist Jerry Cantrell by surprise. “The initial response to ‘Hollow’ has been f—ing incredible, totally not what we intended, and that’s f—ing awesome.” He explains to Rolling Stone, “We just put that song out there for the fans and then it ended up turning into a No. 1 single, a six-minute sludgy metal tune. That’s always fun, to see something like that happen.”

The new single ‘Stone’ has its fair share of sludge as well, further delving into a dark and unnerving side of alternative rock and atmospheric metal.

Last week, Alice in Chains unveiled the release date, album art and track listing for ‘The Devil Put Dinosaurs Here,’ playing a clever trick on fans by only revealing part of the new album art at first. As the red portion of the album art continues to be peeled back, two triceratops skulls layered on top of each other become more prominent, creating a visual of the devil in the center.

As for the new single ‘Stone,’ check out a 90-second preview of the track in the audio player below, and stay excited for the release of ‘The Devil Put Dinosaurs Here’ on May 28.

30 Seconds to Mars have just released the track ‘Up in the Air,’ the band’s first single from their upcoming fourth studio album, ‘Love Lust Faith + Dreams.’ The song made its outer space premiere at the International Space Station today, and now you can hear ‘Up in the Air’ right here on Earth.

‘Up in the Air’ was physically launched into space on March 1 at 10:10 AM EST along with over 1,200 pounds of scientific equipment during a SpaceX cargo mission. “It was amazing to feel it take off,” says frontman Jared Leto according to the Associated Press. “The noise and the brightness was overwhelming, and you’re still a mile away. Most worthy things are not easy to get done. I think a lot of great things have a tremendous amount of challenge, a tremendous amount of difficulty, and I think this was one of those things.”

In addition to the historic launch, 30 Seconds to Mars and astronaut Thomas Marshburn, who was aboard the International Space Station, will be broadcasting a special Q+A session via NASA today. To check out the video stream, click here.

30 Seconds to Mars’ ‘Love Lust Faith + Dreams’ will see a release date of May 21, and Jared Leto recently described the album as “provocative” during an interview with MTV. “This is a really important album for us. It’s an evolution … this album is more of who we are than we have ever been before,” Leto says. “And we’ve gone to an entirely new place, which is incredibly exciting.”

The album cover for ‘Love Lust Faith + Dreams’ has just been released (pictured above), and the track ‘Up in the Air’ (listen below) will officially be released tomorrow (March 19). The song takes a notable departure from the band’s hard rock style, moving into dance territory with heavy electronic elements.
