As Florida residents have prepared for the arrival of Hurricane Irma all week, over half a million people have evacuated the state with many seeking refuge it the Atlanta, Ga. area. Major League Baseball’s Atlanta Braves offered free entry to the team’s Thursday night (Sept. 7) game against the Miami Marlins for those who were ordered to evacuate their homes. In an unfortunate mishap, the Scorpions hit “Rock You Like a Hurricane” was regrettably played between innings.

The news of this incident quickly made the rounds on social media as countless users took to various platforms to voice their disgust, stating the song selection was in poor taste. Miami Herald Marlins beat writer Clark Spencer later confirmed on Twitter (seen below) that an official from the Braves had apologized, noting that “Rock You Like a Hurricane” is on the team’s home playlist, but stressed that the song will not crop up again during the series between Atlanta’s team and the Marlins.

Hurricane Irma has already left a trail of destruction throughout the week, registering as a category 5, the most powerful designation a hurricane can be given, when touching down in Cuba. Irma is expected to hit Florida over the weekend, just a little over one week after Hurricane Harvey made landfall in Texas.

The Scorpions will kick off their “Crazy World” North American tour with Megadeth on Sept. 14. The run will last one month, finishing up on Oct. 15 and a full list of dates can be seen this location. In our interview with guitarist Rudolf Schenker, he explained how the tour package came to be and can be read here.
