Hollywood did what Ubisoft couldn't -- delay a massive Assassin's Creed project to make sure it gets a smooth launch.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the Assassin's Creed film starring Michael Fassbender and being directed by Justin Kurzel is locked in for a Dec. 21, 2016 launch, which is one week after the supposed release date of the 'Star Wars' spin-off movie. Fassbender is known for his roles in 'Prometheus,' 'Inglourious Basterds' and the recent X-Men films. The script was written by Adam Cooper and Bill Collage, who both wrote the script for 'Exodus: Gods and Kings' and Darren Afonofsky's George Washington-centered script for 'The General.'

'Assassin's Creed' was originally slated for an Aug. 7, 2015 launch, but Josh Trank's 'Fantastic Four' reboot will now take its place. Also, we're glad to hear that 'Deadpool' will be hitting theaters on Feb. 12, 2016.

We can't wait to see how Hollywood depicts the time-travelling war between the Templar and Assassins.

We're pretty sure Hollywood knows where to hide a body:
