Ashley Monroe is a 26-year-old country singer from Nashville, TN. We've got a soft spot for country singers, and this one might just be our new favorite.

As an 11-year-old, she won a local talent contest by singing 'I Want to Be a Cowboy's Sweetheart,' which led to a job offer at a theatre. Her father died when she was young, and though she and her mother struggled, they managed to keep focused on Ashley's career.

Her two solo singles 'Satisfied' and 'I Don't Want To'  both made it onto the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart before she joined country babes Miranda Lambert and Angeleena Presley to form the band Pistol Annies, in 2011.

She released her second studio album 'Like a Rose' yesterday, and has already received rave reviews. You can stream it right here.

Ashley is engaged to John Danks, starting pitcher for the Chicago White Sox. We love this video of her performing the title track from the album, which she wrote with the legendary songwriter Guy Clark:
