Lead singer Sam Carter is being praised for calling out a man for groping a woman during their set at Lowlands Festival in the Netherlands.

Crowd surfing is a way of life for many music fans who attend festivals and concerts.  Attendees get to enjoy their favorite songs flying above the crowd, and even catch the attention of their favorite bands. The real difference between a man's crowd surfing experience and a woman's can depend on the crowd and who is in it. Normally it is a great experience for all, but sometimes one prick can make it uncomfortable for a woman to enjoy crowd surfing. That happened at the Lowlands Festival in the Netherlands this past weekend to a woman crowdsurfing during the set for British metalcore rockers the Architects. Rather than ignore the incident, Architects singer Sam Carter called out the man and halted the band's performance to discuss what happened to her:

I've been going over in my mind, about whether I should say something or not about what I just saw in that last song. And you know what? I'm going to say it. I saw a girl, a woman, crowd surfing over here, and I'm not going to point out the piece of sh*t that did it, but I saw you grab at her boob. I saw it, it is f*cking disgusting, and there is no f*cking place for that sh*t here. It is not your f*cking body! It is not your f*cking body, and you do not f*cking grab at someone! Not at my f*cking show! So if you feel like doing that again, walk out there and f*ck off and don't come back.

After this incident, the media, festival and fans applauded Carter for his words and his defense of his female fan. Later during Lowlands, Frank Carter of The Rattlesnakes invited women to crowd surf, even if it was their first time and were intimated and promised that the audience would treat them all with respect.

Seems like this one bad incident turned into a wonderful thing where bands could come together to support their female fans and show them that they will be treated with respect at their shows. Props to Sam Carter and the Architects for standing up, they've made a even bigger fan out of me.
