I grew up in San Jose, Ca., so the Casino Arcade was a must see place every time I went to Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk. As a kid and now as an adult, I will spend hours inside of this huge arcade that takes up one end of the boardwalk. That's why we have to talk about it in this installment of the Arcade Spotlight!

Originally built in 1904, and having burned down in 1906, the Casino Arcade has been a staple of the boardwalk since being rebuilt in 1907. That's a long time for an arcade to be around. What used to be a Penny Arcade and ice cream shop, now houses tons of today's greatest arcade games. Everything from the latest racers and fighting games to the "Classic Corner," which houses classics like Tron, Donkey Kong, Joust and Ms. Pac-Man.

Pinball fans will be happy with the rows and rows of pinball machines that are available. Sharpshooters can test their skills at the shooting range, and kids will have plenty to do with the redemption games. They even have laser tag and air hockey. Tired of playing video games? Go next door for some mini-golf, or walk down the boardwalk and hit the rides.

The Casino Arcade is one of the greatest arcades left standing in the country. Thousands play there every year and it's just one of the many things to do at the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk. You've got to check it out! (And once you're done, hit the pier for some awesome clam chowder.)
