April Fools – Best Prank?
What is the best prank you have ever pulled or have pulled on you? April Fool’s Day is tomorrow and lots of pranks are probably already in the works even as I type this. Pranks are funny if you’re on the good end, but if you’re on the bad end of a prank, it’s still funny – just not as funny to you. Case and point after the jump.
I have pulled my fair share of pranks in the past. I have also been “fooled” a few times as well. As many times as I have been involved with a prank, either way, what I am about to share with you was one of the best.
A few years ago, I was going through like it was any other day. Sure, I knew it was April 1st, but I never really thought about it. Just cruising through the day with no care in the world. Suddenly, our receptionists called my extension and told me their was a cop at the front wanting to speak to me. I felt my face get flush, sweat started pouring down – I was scared. (I’m sure some of you out there know exactly what I am talking about) I started thinking about what I had done in the past few weeks.
Then I thought, “Ah, hell, it’s April Fool’s Day!”. So I went outside, peaked around the corner, and sure as a bear poops in the woods, there was a police car out in the front of our building. Uh oh!
So, I go up front to face this situation like a man. Ok, so I might have cried a little bit and I might have wished I had brought a change of undies, but I marched up to the front and took it like a man.
I walk up to the cop and shake his hand.
Cops says, “Are you Chaz Mcguire?”
“Yes sir”, I said almost in a whisper.
Cop: “I’m going to have to ask you to go ahead and turn around and put your hands behind your back”
At this point, I didn’t know what to think. I was embarrassed and still had no clue what the heck I had done. The cop told me it was for something my ex had filed on me and that I owed money, etc. I knew that I had not done anything wrong, but there I was in handcuffs being lead out to a patrol car. The cop escorted me out and proceeded to put me in the patrol car. I’m fuming at this point, but there wasn’t anything I could do about it. As I was trying to sit down, I turned my head just a bit and noticed all of my co-workers laughing their collective asses off as one of them snapped a picture.
That photographer? Frank Pain.
Earlier that day ( this is when Pain and I did a morning show together), I mistakenly went ON AIR proclaiming that I would get him or he couldn’t get me or something to that effect.
My bad, dude!
Pain got me good that year. Since then, my butt puckers every April 1st and now I am scarred for life. I think it’s time for a Jagerbomb.
Here is the end result.
