While the details regarding the situation in question are pretty sparse at this time, Anthrax drummer Charlie Benante and his wife were arrested on Friday (July 27) and allegedly spent the night in the Elkart County Jail.

According to a local report on WSBT.com, the two were arrested and picked up at the Hilton Garden Inn in Eklhart, Ind. and both were subsequently released from jail the next day.

Benante’s booking form shows a court date set for this Friday, Aug. 3.

Anthrax is currently out on the road as part of Mayhem Festival, due to stop in Mansfield, Mass. at the Comcast Center on Aug. 3. Benante missed the first few weeks of the tour due to a hand injury, with Shadows Fall drummer Jason Bittner sitting in.
