Okay, metalheads, this might be one of the only times where you're asked to raise your horns and it's not the metal hand gesture! Amon Amarth have released a new cut off their forthcoming 10th studio album, Jomsviking. "Raise Your Horns" is a song all about the Viking way of drinking, so "raise them up to the sky!" The band has also revealed the name of the drummer who will join them on their upcoming tour as they support the new record, out March 25.

"Raise Your Horns" opens with a strong-armed riff, plodding along at a mid-tempo pace that evokes the imagery of parched warriors marching home looking to quench their thirst. The lyrics leave little to the imagination, painting a perfect picture of men huddled around flagons of ale, waiting their turn to fill their horn as they also remember those who fell in battle. The chorus sees vocalist Johan Hegg dig further down into his bellowing guttural register alongside a jig-like melody that furthers the mental visual. The song was debuted on the BBC Radio 1 program Rock Show With Daniel P. Carter and can be heard at the 2:17:31 mark here.

Amon Amarth brought in the services of former Vomitory drummer Tobias Gustafsson to play on Jomsviking. Insisting from the start that he would not be the new permanent drummer, they have stayed true to their word and have tapped October Tide skinsman Jocke Wallgren for their upcoming tour. Fredrik Andersson left after 17 years in the band, though the group has routinely spared any details regarding the split. Hegg told Full Metal Jackie, "I think there’s no really most important thing, I think well they have to be able to play all the stuff obviously. But I think equally important is that the person fits the group because we’re not looking to get a hired gun and we don’t want to have to look for another guy a year from now or something so it’s important that we find the right person as well to be a permanent member."
