I had the thought behind the title, "All Things Are Judged By Their Best And Worst Examples" and I just couldn't let it go.  When I first had the thought I was thinking about government programs, which will probably be the examples I'll use later, but it's true with about everything and a good thing to keep in mind.

No one ever judges anything by the middle ground. They just don't, but that's where things should be judged.  Let's take a government food program. If you're against them, you're going to talk about the people buying Cheetos or other non-nutritious foods and those selling their benefits on Craig's list.  On the other side of a coin, the people in favor will talk about the kids that have no means of feeding themselves other than these programs.  There is a third side to this coin though, and that's the regular family who are trying hard but just need a little help. When you get down to it, that's who receives the bulk of the help and should be the example we look to.  You know why?  Because that's the family that you could easily be if you missed a few paychecks.  You don't deserve to be looked down on because you need help. You worked and paid into these programs so they'd be there if you needed them.

I think it's important that we remember this in general, not just for government programs. Let's take FMX for example. You're going to remember us for the time we played that song for you when you lost a friend, and you're going to be pissed when we didn't play something for you on your birthday. Somewhere between those two extremes is the fact that we've been there for you at the touch of a dial for over three decades.

Remember things are never good or as bad as they seem, they are always somewhere in the middle.
