After being listed as one of the windiest cities in America, and as top destination in Texas, Abilene has made another top list - this time as one of the best places to retire.

The list by Forbes, which is in no particular order,  was comprised by sifting through more than 500 communities from every state. Then, economic factors were taken into account, including overall cost of living and home prices as compared to national averages and general state tax climates for retirees.

Abilene made the list because of it's strong economy, warm climate, the cost of living being 17% below the national average, and a low average home price. Plus, Abilene has a low violent crime rate and a high number of doctors per capita. Now, the one knock that Abilene got, was that it's not a very walkable city meaning there are not a lot of ways in town to get around on foot.

Not only did Abilene make this list, but 2 other Texas cities made it as well.
