I was out front of the radio station this morning, located on South First, when I hear this loud rumble coming down the street. I look up to see all these small motorcycles, better known as Cushman's. There were hundreds of them; they just kept coming! This was their big parade to kick-off the Cushman Club of America National convention.

This is the first time Abilene has hosted the event and the first time since 2004, that the convention has been held in Texas. The event will bring about 1,000 guests to the Big Country. Instrumental in bringing this event to Abilene was Don Henry. Three years ago at the Sturgis, South Dakota convention Henry started working to get the event to his hometown. Tireless hours of work paid off!

This week, thousands of Cushman enthusiasts, will be visiting, Frontier Texas, Buffalo Gap Historic Village, Historic Downtown Abilene and will even travel to Albany to experience the Fandangle.

They will also have scooter shows, rides, contests, banquets and much more at the Expo Center. Arriving in Abilene yesterday (Sun. June 23) the convention will continue thru Thursday, June 27.

We welcome our guest to Abilene and hope you all have a wonderful time while here.
