Art-Walk enters into uncharted territory on September 13th, when the Center for Contemporary Arts (a non-profit themselves) raises money and awareness for another non-profit, the Abilene Alzheimer’s Association. Among the usual art displays, activities, sights and events that take place during Art-Walk, on September 13th Art-Walk will seem more like “Carnival” in Rio de Janeiro. Music, fun and games will fill the air and the streets of downtown Abilene. Plus live entertainment from a very popular local band.

The Kirk House Band is scheduled to play at the Center for Contemporary Arts (CCA) during Art-Walk as the CCA’s main fundraiser.  Bird Thomas from the CCA says, “Alzheimer’s affects almost all of us in some way, be it personally, or by way of someone we love. Now everyone can join in for this awareness during Art-Walk along with Windcrest and the Abilene Alzheimer’s Association (AAA).”
