I found this gun that I thought was really cool and I had never seen before. I showed it to my boyfriend who informed me these had been around for many years. When I found it on the web, sure enough they have been around since 1959. I didn’t know about it so maybe some of you don’t either. Check out the AR-7 from Henry Repeating Arms.

The original was called the Henry US Survival Rifle and was used by U.S. Air Force pilots who needed small rifles for survival, packed away, in case they had to jump from their planes. They are now used by civilians as well.

They are apparently very accurate and reliable. They are great for people that go back packing, pilots or anyone that likes to go on back country adventures.

It only weighs 3.5 lbs and fits easily into a back pack as it’s only 16.5 inch when broken down. It’s a simple chambered .22LR. Plus, it takes less than a minute to put together and they are fairly inexpensive for a gun that breaks down.

They are more for people who, as I mentioned, back pack or spend a lot of time in the wilderness and might need it for survival purposes. I want one of these. I don’t need one but I think they are pretty cool.

Check out this quick video to see how fast it is to put together and shoot this AR-7.
