Last week I posed the question; do you prefer fake or real Christmas trees? I mentioned that I although I love real trees my allergies don't allow me to have anything but a fake one these days. Seems those who voted in our online poll said they have to go with fake as well.

The results of the poll showed that 78% of you prefer a fake tree to 22% who voted for the real thing.  I don't have a breakdown of 'why?' but I have a couple of theories.

1) Allergies like myself.  I get the stopped up nose, itchy, watery eyes, sneezing, headaches etc when smelling the pine scent.

2) They dry out too fast.  Real trees don't do well in 80-90 degree Texas heat.  I've noticed in just the last week stores that have real trees seem to be dry (a fire hazard) they are droopy and turning brown.  Fake trees are just easier to take care of and cheaper in the long run.

So there you go, the answer to the age old question: Real? or Fake?
